Industry leaders rally to support tourism to Queensland

Industry figureheads have gathered in Queensland today to plan strategies to promote tourism to the state, in particular, flood-torn areas.

The one-day forum, organised by AFTA, includes a discussion panel headed up by AFTA chief executive Jayson Westbury, Flight Centre Managing Director, Graham Turner,  Jetset Travelworld General Manager, Warwick Blacker and Travelscene American Express chief executive Mike Thompson.

Inbound and domestic tour operators including Qantas Holidays, AAT Kings and AOT Holidays, have also rallied support for today’s session which will incorporate a helicopter tour of flood-affected areas.

ATEC, the National Tourism Alliance and Riverlife are also taking part.
