Shangri-La celebrates 40 years

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts continue its expansion into major gateways, with new properties opening across Europe, China and India this year bringing the total to 72 hotels and further cementing its footing as a leading global accommodation group.

Shangri-La Singapore was the company’s first property to open 40 years ago, and according to VP Sales & Marketing David Liu, visiting from Shanghai for the company’s annual sales mission roadshow across Australia and New Zealand this week, the group continually reinvents its product to suit market demand.

Shangri-La Sydney is currently undergoing an A$20 million renovation across its guest rooms, after rebranding in 2003 from the ANA Hotel.  It’s CHI Spa was also recently awarded best Spa by NSW Hotels Association, after being in operation for only one year.
