This week marked the milestone anniversary – 40 years of Travel and Tourism Training at Sydney TAFE. The celebrations on Tuesday night saw Chris Hamill, CEO of DriveAway Holidays being presented with the inaugural award as Industry Champion. The award was presented by the Hon George Souris, Minister for Tourism, Major Events, Hospitably and Racing, recognising the company’s professional support to Sydney TAFE students and graduates.
“I am delighted that DriveAway has received this award”, Michelle Carpio, the Human Resources Manager stated, “we encourage many TAFE students to come and join us for the opportunity to experience working with us, whether it be for a day or a couple of weeks. Receiving this award reaffirms how important it is for us as a company to continue encouraging new graduates into the Travel Industry.”
