Last week, the Taiwan Tourism Bureau hosted two events in Sydney and Brisbane to launch its new promotional campaign, ‘Taiwan – The Heart of Asia’.
The event in Sydney was held at the Sofitel Hotel Sydney and in Brisbane at Brisbane Hilton, with both nights a resounding success.
A large number of guests attended the events, where they experienced a night of Taiwanese culture and gained an insight into why Taiwan is redefining the way we see Asia.
Travel agents, media and industry representatives got to witness the official launch in Australia of the new campaign.
The campaign is well timed as the number of Australians visiting Taiwan is increasing each year and there has already been a year on year increase of 25 percent for the first six months of 2014.
The events included workshop presentations by Taiwan’s best local tour companies including; Edison Tours, Golden Foundation Tours and MyTaiwanTour.
A number of airlines and hotels also provided their generous support including Scoot, China Airlines, EVA Airlines, Marriott, Accor and Starwood.
The presentations highlighted the fact that Taiwan is one of the safest destinations in Asia, easily accessible with direct flights from Sydney and Brisbane, and that the island has one of the most modern infrastructures in Asia.
Guests were entertained by a Taiwanese dance troupe and were also informed as to why Taiwan is fast becoming one of the best destinations in Asia.
The diversity of culture, geography and cuisine, makes Taiwan unique with the country recently nominated by Lonely Planet as the “foodie mecca” of Asia!
