Tourism Fiji regretfully announces that due to events beyond its control, the Fijian Tourism Expo 2018 which was scheduled to take place next week from 10-12 April, and all activities related to the official program, have been cancelled.
This difficult decision was made on Saturday 7 April with the safety of all delegates and industry partners in mind, with the expected serious weather conditions and the Fiji Meteorology Service advice of a Tropical Cyclone Alert for Fiji coinciding with the event dates.
Regional Manager for Australia, Hal Caldwell commented: “It is regrettable that we have had to cancel our annual Fijian Tourism Expo this year. All of us at Tourism Fiji share the disappointment of our industry, partners and participants that were looking forward to FTE 2018. It was a difficult decision and one that we deliberated extensively, but the safety of all involved was the paramount concern for us. We are grateful for the industry’s support and understanding of the decision.”
There will be some expected delays to flights in and around Fiji over the next two days.
