JTB Corporation and Alliance Airlines launches first return day trip
Today, JTB Corporation (JTB) and Alliance Airlines launched their first charter flight from Brisbane to Uluru as part of a three year partnership agreement announced in February this year.
The JTB charter flights operated by Alliance Airlines support JTB’s ‘Global Destination Campaign’ by offering unique tourism products not previously available to the inbound Japanese tourism market.
Lee Schofield, Chief Executive Officer stated “The partnership between Alliance and JTB has been extremely successful. The response to the Uluru day tours has exceeded our expectations, with a minimum of 25 charters planned for the rest of 2018.”
JTB’s charter flights will depart from a range of destinations across Australia including Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin and the Gold Coast. “Utilising a charter flight maximises tourist opportunities on the ground at Uluru for JTB customers.” Mr. Schofield said.
Each Uluru day trip will cater for up to 100 passengers, with 8 hours on the ground and returning back to their originating port after viewing the iconic sunset over the Rock.
“Alliance is extremely proud to partner with JTB Corp, one of the world’s great travel companies and looks forward to further developing the Japanese inbound tourism sector in Australia” Mr. Schofield said.
Alliance Airlines has flown throughout Australia since 2002 and now flies into all Australian states and territories. Alliance will operate predominately Fokker 70 and Fokker 100 jet services between Brisbane and Uluru (Ayers Rock).
Mr. Masaya Kasahara, Managing Director of JTB Australia, commented that “JTB is very excited about today’s first flight to Uluru with Alliance Airlines and we look forward to growing the number of flights not only to Uluru but to many other Australian tourism destinations with our air charter partner Alliance Airlines over the coming years.”
