Blaire Zahn earns certified Tourism Executive Designation
Blaire Zahn, Government & SMERF (Social, Military, Education, Religious, and Fraternal) Sales Manager for Visit Plano has completed all coursework toward her Certified Tourism Executive (CTE) designation from Travel & Tourism College (TTC) a program of the Texas Travel Industry Association (TTIA).
In addition to completing the coursework, Zahn also completed a capstone project required for the certification designation. She developed a plan for an online toolkit for meeting planners to access Visit Plano’s servicing resources. The Servicing Toolbox features pre-written content and social media starter posts that can be copied and pasted to a client’s website or social media outlet as well as need-to-know information such as weather, transportation options, and meeting resources. It is meant to be a quick reference and a concise web page where meeting planners can find the answers to all their questions in an easy-to-navigate manner.
“TTC has unlocked a world of ideas and solutions for me, and sharpened my skills as they relate to the many challenges inherent in our industry today,” said Zahn. “Best of all, the knowledge I’ve gained in the process is actionable every single day on the job at Visit Plano.”
Travel & Tourism College (TTC) provides participants with an intensive professional education full of marketing, leadership and management courses taught by college professors and seasoned travel and tourism professionals from around the country.
Over the past three years, Zahn attended TTC courses that covered such topics as the emotional IQ of today’s marketing campaigns, hands-on strategies for handling any crisis situation, how to create eco-friendly, sustainable tourism products, management excellence, positively outrageous customer service, essential strategies for tourism marketing success, and how relationships affect advocacy and engagement.
“With this CTE designation, Blaire has taken her professionalism to an even higher level, and her outstanding service to our clients will shine even brighter,” said Visit Plano Director Mark Thompson, CDME, CMP.”
Zahn has been with Visit Plano since December 2016 where she started as Convention Services Coordinator and was promoted to Government & SMERF Sales Manager in October 2017. Prior to joining Visit Plano, Zahn was Tourism Director at the Mineral Wells Convention & Visitors Bureau.
