Hotel review for publication – Le Narcisse Blanc, Paris

What famous dancer of the early 1900’s inspired famous painters such as Edgar Degas and Toulouse Lautrec? The same lovely beauty who inspired the timeless decor of the 5-Star Narcisse Blanc Hotel in the heart of Paris’ 7ième arrondissement. Cleo de Merode, Parisian dancer, actress and artist of the early 1900’s, whose everlasting beauty is embodied in fine discreet touches throughout the hotel.

Cleo de Merode is the face of the hotel, wherever one turns, bringing history to life in a unique and artistic way. We are reminded of her from the moment we set eyes on the graceful lobby and throughout the hotel.

Timeless modernity envelops the decor of this new special boutique property of 37 spacious rooms. The color scheme is an elegant, soft pastel beige and dusty rose. The Narcisse Blanc hotel embodies all that is Parisian. With its fine, artistic details and its romantic ambiance, the atmosphere and design embody the best of what is French.

The personalized service of Le Narcisse Blanc stands out as first class. From booking till check out, this hotel offers top class hospitality and facilities, as evidenced by TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence, awarded to accommodations that consistently earn great reviews.

A Dreamy Room

Our room was perfect with lovely, high ceilings and a very comfortable bed and fine linens. No expense was spared on decor and amenities. The bathroom had 2 showerheads, a rain shower and hand held device. The fine details were everywhere, including the soft design of the wall paper, the bathroom tiles embossed with a classic paisley pattern and the custom made water faucets made of flowers encased in lucite. The room was ultra comfortable, chic and spotless, with only upscale amenities.

Stay in Authentic Paris Amongst the Locals

The 7ieme arrondissement is known for being chic and elegant. Here in the “left” bank, life is less crowded compared to its sister, across the River Seine, known as the “right” bank. Here in the left bank is where the aristocrats and the intellectuals live.

Laced with diplomatic embassies, one won’t find large and overbearing, cookie cutter hotels here. One of the appealing aspects to this neighborhood is that it is removed from the tourists and the flocks of visitors. From its bistros, to its bakeries and its specialty cheese and butcher shops, to be discovered in the lovely nearby pedestrian rue Cler.

For the Tourist at Heart

For the tourist at heart, it’s a great location! Within walking distance is the Eiffel Tower, the Musee d’Orsay, with its fine collection of impressionist, including works of Monet’s Water Lillies and the Dancer by Degas. Also close by, is the River Seine, or Les Invalides, with the tomb of Napoleon. Venture a little further and one finds the Louvre for a peak at the Mona Lisa, the shopping of St. Germain, the Latin Quarter, and the famous Church of Notre Dame, to name a few.

A Unique Spa Experience

The swimming pool, heated to 29 degrees, is quiet and serene, which is so very unique for a city as busy and hectic as Paris. The pool and hot tub offer a pleasant respite. The spa area is equipped with a hot tub, pool, sauna, steam room, and fitness room. The spa menu is thorough and services are very much in demand by fellow guests. The sauna and hammam (steam room) are great to soothe one’s aching bones after a long day of sightseeing. Le Narcisse Blanc spa is a memorable experience that is a must for any guest.

A Memorable Dining Experience

The restaurant, Cleo, offers a culinary experience to remember. The exceptional Canadian chef, Zachary Gaviller, uses mostly organic ingredients for his culinary creations. Artistry and creativity are high on the list here. A meal at Cleo is a special Parisian experience. Some of the fine wines served are from the owner’s own French winery, and wait staff are most knowledgeable and patient when it comes to wine pairings.

Service with a Smile

Service is first class at Le Narcisse Blanc, as staff go out of their way for any request. Check in is fast and with no fuss. Room service is available from 6pm to 3am, and housekeeping is available around the clock. The concierge did a great job booking dinner reservations on the nights that we wanted to venture outside the hotel.

Tips:

1. Feather pillows are available from housekeeping if preferred to the allergy free synthetic pillows.

2. Worth paying more for superior room if available, for slightly more space.

3. If a nice view is important, request a room on a higher floor. 4. Spa services are very much in demand, so best to book in advance.
