Name: Zofia Majka
Position: Model
Company Name: Zofia Majka Modelling Miss Scuba Australia

When and why did you join the industry?
I started taking modelling seriously roughly a year ago, I’d been around the automotive enthusiast scene for quite a few years and I’d always wanted to try out automotive modelling, but I just didn’t have the confidence. I’m very glad I pushed myself to take it a bit more seriously and make a brand name for myself, I’ve met so many amazing people and seen some absolutely amazing and rare cars!

What do you like most about your job?
The amount of incredible people that I meet. Both people with a strong love for their cars that pour their heart and soul into their cars through modifications and work, and so many ridiculously talented photographers and other models that make this entire industry possible!

What’s one of the biggest achievements in your career so far?
Being asked to work Winter Nationals 2018, a huge annual drag racing event that’s pretty big here in Queensland, even attracting people from interstate and other countries

What’s the best advice ever given to you and who gave it?
“Don’t let what others say or think about you dictate your decisions and what you do with your life”
I’ve been given this same advice so many times by numerous people, and being in such a competitive industry it never hurts to be reminded of this exact advice to help push myself to complete my goals.

Who do you admire and see as a role model in the industry?
There are so very many models that I look up to in the industry, that I can’t name just one! But their common traits are that they’re always very professional and kind when spoken to, they give anyone and everyone time of day to talk or answer questions, they’re all extremely beautiful, they keep their work classy and have their own flair and energy that they bring to their art form. I aspire to be like all those women.

What can people expect from your company and what sets it apart from the rest?
Professionalism, and above all, fun! Everyone I’ve worked with so far has always said they enjoyed the time they spent working with me, and I pride myself in always keeping photoshoots entertaining and an enjoyable time for everyone involved.

What destinations are on your travel bucket list?
Borneo, Maldives, Venice, anywhere in the Galápagos Islands, Machu Picchu, Japan, just to name a few.

What’s the most memorable travel experience you’ve ever had (good or bad)?
Swimming with wild dolphins in New Zealand on my 14th birthday. Even though I was almost completely frozen in my double wetsuit and my snorkelling tube kept filling with plankton, it was such an amazing experience to connect and play with wild animals in such an open and undoctored environment.

What are three things you always take with you when travelling?
Headphones and a way of listening to music (I make playlists whenever I go on big trips with whatever music I’m listening to at the time, and every time I revisit those playlists when I come back they remind me of my travels).
A Stephen King book
A camera of sorts (even just a phone) to document my memories

Name someone famous you’d like to travel with and a destination you’d like to go to with them.
Now that’s something I’ve never though about! Haha. I really have no idea! I’ve never met any celebrities, so I’d say going to anywhere on my travel bucket list with any celebrity would be a tonne of fun!

What direction do you see the industry heading in over the next five to ten years?
Honestly it’s hard to try to look into the future of automotive modelling. With the recent removal of Grid Girls from Formula 1 racing, who knows how long automotive models will be able to make a living off modelling in a field they’re passionate about. And it seems to only be in jeopardy because of people that have nothing at all to do with the industry complaining. It’s very, very sad to see such an iconic part of the races removed because of a small number of people complaining. But I guess we’ll have to wait and see how other events respond and change.
